SMASH Training for Mental Health & Wellbeing in Children & Young People
SMASH offers training to professionals and volunteers working with Children & Young People (CYP). We are committed to seeing as many youth practitioners as possible in our communities trained in Mental Health First Aid for CYP and supporting CYP using a Trauma-Informed approach.
Mental Health First Aid Youth (most suitable for those working with 8-18 year olds)
This is a MHFA England registered course delivered over 2 days that provides attendees with a comprehensive toolkit for their response to CYP in a mental health crisis. Training is available in-person and online (subject to availability).
Trauma-Informed Champions Training
Endorsed by KCA (Knowledge Change Action) this training, which can tailored to your needs, equips attendees to be experts in supporting children and young people through a trauma-informed lens, using the building blocks for engaging with children and young people who may have experienced trauma – in an appropriate and therapeutic way using the “five to thrive” model. Training can be delivered either in-person or online.
