Lewis Bird

Born and raised in Swindon, I’ve spent my career working on initiatives that support people who are furthest from sport and physical activity to be more active. From inclusive boxing sessions, couch to 5K and Street Games, I’ve seen first-hand the positive impact these opportunities can have. Inspired by this, I moved into Public Health to help tackle the systemic issues affecting residents’ health across Swindon. One recent highlight was supporting SMASH to navigate local challenges to set up a food van in our staff car park. The passion and drive of the SMASH team really struck a chord with me. I reached out to Andy to offer my support on an ongoing basis and I’m now proud to serve as a Trustee. I help by capturing minutes, circulating agendas, and connecting SMASH with opportunities through my wider public health work to ensure every child and young person has the best start in life.
