Laura Macinnes

I spent 30 years as a police officer, with the majority of that time focused on child protection. It was a role that shaped my deep commitment to safeguarding and supporting vulnerable young people. Since retiring from the force, I’ve taken on a new challenge as a Foundation Skills Trainer, teaching and mentoring new police recruits—something I find incredibly rewarding. I joined SMASH as a trustee in May 2024, driven by a passion for giving back and supporting the amazing team who work tirelessly to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people.
