Mentors Become the Pride of Swindon

img_0670On Thursday 13th March, our Mentors were officially named the Pride of Swindon. The ceremony, hosted by Shirley Ludford (station manager at 105.5), was held at the STEAM museum. The project was represented by three mentors, alongside Managing Director, Rob Chappell who nominated the team. He said “[the nomination is a] thanks for all your work and dedication to the cause, we really and absolutely could not do it without you”.

Gill Hall was one of our mentors in attendance. Of the awards, she said “Being at the awards ceremony was very inspiring to see the value of volunteering, the scale of voluntary work and how much value it brings to the Swindon communityā€¯. Another mentor in attendance was Paul Brown, who had this to say, “The award was collected on behalf of the mentors, office staff, and trustees who have all made this project a great success, it is a great achievement and honour to receive this award. Well done to the whole team, and thank you all for your support and dedication to the project”.

From everybody at SMASH, a massive congratulations to all our mentors, past and present, for the dedication each of you give to help a young person who has decided to change their lives.
