Memory Makers Wanted

Could You Help a Child Make Some Positive Memories?

If you can give a few hours a week to a child who needs a chance to make some positive memories, we’d like to hear from you. The Memory Makers project is part of established Swindon charity, SMASH. Since 1999 SMASH has been bringing children and young people together with willing and committed volunteers who can support, advise and listen to them in a sustained long term relationship. Giving them the chance to become everything they can be, sometimes when no one else believes that they can.

Memory Makers works with children aged 9 to 12, focusing on creating positive and happy memories in their young lives. As a Memory Maker you will work one-to-one in a long term relationship with a child, meeting regularly and taking part in simple activities to help them to gain confidence and self esteem, resilience and hope. You don’t need any special skills or experience just your self and a few hours a week to care for a child who needs your time.

Memory Makers is supported by the Wiltshire and Swindon Community Foundation and the JP Getty Jnr Charitable Trust.
