Come and See (and Hear!!) Us at ASDA This Weekend

On the weekend before Christmas, Swindon Youth Mentoring won’t be dashing to shops for those last minute presents as they will telling their story to the thousands of shopers at ASDA Hayden.

Volunteers from across SMASH and Memory Makers will be spending their days handing out leaflets, stickers and the occasional chocolate to continuing the work of spreading the message of what Swindon Youth Mentoring is and why it is so important. That message is simple:

One Person Can Change A Life.

Since 1999 SMASH has been bringing young people together with willing and committed volunteers who can support, advise and listen to them in a sustained long term mentoring relationship. Giving young people at risk the chance to become everything they can be, sometimes when no one else believes that they can.

In 2014 Memory Makers was founded and in its short life has given 12 children a Memory Maker volunteer to help them build positive childhood memories through play and new opportunities while they are dealing with issues including bereavement, illness or severe family breakdown.

If you are in Swindon please come and say hello and find out more – 10 – 4 Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st

And on Sunday you will be able to hear us too. Our young people will be drumming up a storm for Christmas. Having practiced for several weeks they will be unpacking the djembes between 1pm and 3pm. There will be a little singing too.

We look forward to seeing you all there.
