A very successful Quiz Night held in support of SMASH recently
Thank you to everyone that helped raise a whopping £1,056 by attending the first ever SMASH quiz night on the 20th October organised by our fantastic Friends of SMASH team (see some of its members in the photo below).
The event was held at Peatmoor Primary School and quizzers’ brains were severely tested but the fish and chip supper added some welcome brain food for the second half.
The Headless Chickens were the winners followed closely by The Beauties and the Beast. Both teams kindly donated their prize money back to SMASH, which meant a further £90 for the pot.
There was a vast array of gifts for the raffle which had been donated by SMASH supporters and included a PS4, driving experiences and train tickets.
Young people involved with SMASH have already enjoyed a drumming workshop that was able to take place due to the money raised on that evening (see photo above). Sessions like these enable our young people to make new friends, gain confidence and share experiences, all whilst having fun, so supporting these events makes a real difference to the lives of these young people.
More events are being planned for the New Year so we look forward to more FUNdraising with you all.
Thank you to everyone who made this day so special – we received our Queens Award for Voluntary Services earlier today – great moment in the history of SMASH and for everyone involved, especially the countless volunteers who have supported us since 1999. Here a few photos for those who couldn’t make it…

Mayor’s Parlour – Wednesday 14th March
The Mayor hosted SMASH in the Mayor’s Parlour last week and thanked our latest Mentors for committing their time and energy into making a real difference. Mentors not only help SMASH but also the wider community of Swindon by supporting those children and young people involved with our Project. We thank all our Mentors for their support.

Your Space, Your Say Exhibition
A great evening had by all at the “Your Space, Your Say Exhibition” that took place on the 21st September. All the young people spoke so confidently about their experiences, and they’ve all made some new friends. The exhibition showcased what can be learnt from young people’s insights about leisure spaces in Swindon. Well done to everyone involved and a big thank you to Annaleise Depper for making it happen and engaging young people in creative projects such as this.
